本曲为じん为手机游戏《世界计划 彩色舞台 feat. 初音未来》第一期活动、第一次Leo/need箱活『雨上がりの一番星』活动所作的原创曲，于2020年10月18日在游戏中公布。游戏内歌曲详情见Stella。
歌词中出现的夜鹰出自日本作家宫泽贤治创作的童话《夜鹰之星》（よだかの星），讲述了主人公夜鹰在夜间飞行，却因外貌丑陋而被同类嫌弃，又因名字带“鹰”遭鹰勒令改名。夜鹰先后请求太阳与星星帮助成为星星，却均被拒绝，最终夜鹰拼命飞上天空，燃烧成一缕青白，化作了“夜鹰之星”。歌词讲述的故事也与童话有所照应。
