「红莲地狱」即佛教中「八寒地狱」第7的「钵特摩地狱」钵特摩是莲花(日语为蓮華)的梵文的音译。堕落入这层地狱的人会因酷寒导致皮肤绽裂、浑身是血。流出地血被冰冻如同绽放的血红色莲花。
