Introduction
《光荣归勇敢人民》于1881年5月25日被安东尼奥·古斯曼·布兰科总统定为委内瑞拉国歌。在1810年空前的委内瑞拉独立战争爆发后，受自由精神鼓舞，作曲家胡安·何塞·兰达埃塔创作了国歌的旋律，而后医生兼记者威森特·萨利亚斯为之填词。在经历了数年的拉锯战之后，由“解放者”玻利瓦尔等人建立的委内瑞拉第二共和国于1814年末被保王党征服，而作者萨利亚斯和兰达埃塔——两位革命的拥护者——于同年被西班牙殖民者执行枪决。
委内瑞拉国歌不同于“拉丁美洲史诗音乐”（即多数西班牙语美洲国家的国歌），其词曲风格和创作背景令一些人联想到法国国歌，因此它又被称作“委内瑞拉的马赛曲”。此外，歌词亦表达出当时盛行的天赋人权思想和泛美主义思想。
