李斯特创作的旅游岁月第一集《瑞士》(Premiere Annen; Swisse)，描述与玛丽(Marie d'Agoult)旅居日内瓦，在阿尔卑斯山地区，幸福恬静的生活背景下的山间景色，这组小品约作于1835-1836年间。
其中第九首《日内瓦之钟》(Les cloches de Geneve)，1835年12月18日，玛丽为李斯特生下一个女儿，李斯特第一次当父亲，在平静的湖面荡漾的祈祷的钟声中，他为女儿布兰迪的幸福而祷告。
